Affordable Outfit Alert!

When I say this outfit is super affordable, I’m talking $55 for everything I’m wearing—including the earrings.

As I’m gearing up for spring, I decided now was the perfect time to give my wardrobe a bit of a refresh. I went through my closet and donated six boxes of clothes and accessories I never wear anymore thus, freeing up space for new items.

I rarely purchase any fashion finds at full retail price (thank you Mom for teaching me that the sale rack is where it’s at) not only to be smart with my money, but because buying things second hand is better for the environment.

After discovering this so-cute midi skirt at Style Encore for $8, outfit ideas immediately started filling my head and I realized this was a versatile piece I could wear for multiple occasions. The skirt features an elastic waistband and is made from super soft, lightweight material making it perfect for summer. I paired it with a plain black tee I was able to pick up for just $4 from the clearance section at Target.

Such a simple combo allows me to accessorize with practically anything, which is always a major bonus. For this particular outfit, I chose a $2 pair of gold stud earrings from Style Encore and topped it off with my new white faux leather booties from Nasty Gal that were on sale for $38. Once I laid eyes on these shoes it was inevitable that they were going to end up in my virtual cart.

What I love most about this outfit is that I can easily dress it up or down simply by swapping accessories. If I were going for a more laid-back look, I’d rock it with my tried and true Adidas All-Star sneakers. For date night or a special occasion, I’d trade the gold studs for a pair of eye-catching statement earrings.

The possibilities are nearly endless with these stylish staples and I can’t wait to come up with new ways to wear them.
