I’m an animal lover living on a small acreage in Iowa navigating through life’s challenges, special moments, and adventures one step at a time—and documenting almost everything along the way over on my Instagram, @carlykulzer. This is also where I share my love for photography! I specialize in pet photography and have captured images of all types of species including dogs, cats, chickens, guinea pigs, birds, cows, goats, toads, you name it. My passion doesn’t stop there; photographing families, couples, and portraits bring me the same amount of joy. There’s nothing more special than capturing life’s milestones and happy moments.

I am an avid animal advocate for both pets and wildlife, and I value sustainability and ethical practices. I am experienced with several breeds of dogs and various personality types, and am known as the cat whisperer among my friends. I understand that pets and people alike may take time to warm up during photo sessions, which is why I don’t put time limits on them (within reason, of course!) My mission is to capture the best images of my ability while creating a fun and positive environment for all involved.

I have several pets of my own who inspire me every day to learn, grow, and be the best version of myself. In my care are two dogs, nine cats, a flock of chickens, and the occasional opossum. My love for each of them is endless and they are my entire world — and my wonderful husband, too.!

By day, I am an experienced e-commerce editor with nearly a decade under my belt working for some of the most well-known brands in the world. I enjoy covering a variety of topics across several categories, with my favorite being pets content as I have many connections in the field.
